The driver of a Kia Cerato, a 26-year-old man from Beaudesert, was declared deceased at the scene following a head-on collision near Esk on the afternoon of 21 March. The crash occurred around 3.05pm when the 2016 Kia and a 2015 Toyota Kluger collided while travelling in opposite directions along Esk Hampton Road, near Brennan Road.

The driver of the Toyota, a 55-year-old Esk man, was transported in a serious condition to Toowoomba Hospital. He remains the second person seriously affected by the collision.

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing for anyone with relevant information or vision to come forward. The Forensic Crash Unit is responsible for the investigation of serious injury and fatal traffic, aircraft, railway and industrial incidents.
