A 32-year-old Benarkin man has been charged with six offences, including two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed (domestic violence offence), and one count each of attempted murder (domestic violence offence), torture (domestic violence offence), and deprivation of liberty unlawfully detained (domestic violence offence).
The charges follow an incident on Sunday at a home north-west of Brisbane, where police allege the man attacked a woman, held her captive and tortured her.
The man is expected to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow, 23 March.
The charges are marked as domestic violence offences, indicating the victim and accused knew each other. All six charges carry serious criminal penalties under Queensland law.
