Fortnite's next major crossover is bringing the world of Westeros to the battle royale. According to leak account ShiinaBR, which has close ties to Epic Games, three iconic Game of Thrones characters will arrive in Fortnite on March 20 as part of Chapter 7 Season 2. Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and The Night King are the confirmed additions to the game.
This marks the first Game of Thrones crossover in Fortnite's history. While the franchise has secured partnerships with numerous properties owned by Warner Bros. in the past, including Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, and Batman, the HBO series has remained absent until now. The timing feels significant given recent renewed interest in the universe following the success of the prequel series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Chapter 7 Season 2, themed around rivalry and showdowns, launched today with a refreshed battle pass and new gameplay mechanics. The season features The Foundation and The Ice King as central characters, with players choosing sides in their conflict. Beyond the Game of Thrones characters, the season also includes Bugs Bunny from the Looney Tunes collaboration and a return visit from The Dark Voyager.

The crossover represents Epic Games' ongoing strategy of aligning seasonal updates with major entertainment moments. Fortnite has built its cosmetic appeal around high-profile franchises, allowing players to experience beloved characters in a battle royale context. The Game of Thrones addition addresses one of the remaining gaps in the company's catalogue, though one notable franchise remains absent: The Lord of the Rings, where gaming rights are held by Embracer Group rather than a partner already integrated with Fortnite.
Beyond the character skins, this season marks other significant changes for Fortnite. The game returned to Google Play on March 19 after a nearly six-year absence, following a settlement between Epic Games and Google over in-app purchase commissions. This expanded availability on Android devices could substantially increase the player base, particularly for casual and mobile-first audiences.

The season also reflects changes to Fortnite's pricing structure. V-Bucks, the game's premium currency, have increased in cost, and the Battle Pass now costs 800 V-Bucks instead of the previous 950. Additionally, the amount of V-Bucks earned through the Battle Pass has been reduced from 1,500 to 800, which means players can no longer fully offset the Battle Pass cost through seasonal progression alone.
For fans of both Game of Thrones and Fortnite, the crossover represents an opportunity to play as some of television's most memorable characters. Whether this partnership will extend beyond these three skins remains uncertain, though Fortnite's history suggests future waves of collaborations are possible. The Game of Thrones universe contains plenty of other iconic characters that players have already begun requesting, from Arya Stark to Tyrion Lannister.
