Firefighters have extinguished a house fire that tore through a Aubin Grove property overnight, with the property's garage sustaining the worst of the damage. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) brought the blaze under control, and residents in the surrounding area were allowed to return to their homes once the scene was made safe.
The fire was reported just after midnight on Nornalup Close. When crews arrived, flames had already taken hold of the home, and the garage door had melted from the intense heat. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Neighbours in the surrounding area were affected by heavy smoke billowing from the address throughout the incident. The DFES worked methodically to suppress the fire and protect homes in the vicinity, though the property itself sustained considerable damage to its garage and interior.
According to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, no one was injured in the fire. Once crews had extinguished the flames and confirmed the area was secure, DFES issued an all-clear alert to residents, advising that the neighbourhood had been made safe. Firefighters remained on scene to monitor for any remaining hot spots before departing.
The cause of the fire has not been disclosed. The Western Australia Police Force may investigate further depending on the circumstances, though initial reports do not indicate any suspicious activity.
