Queensland Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 13-year-old girl who has been reported missing from Rothwell.

The girl was last heard from on 15 March around 5:30pm in Everton Hills and has not been heard from since. The location is significant; Everton Hills lies about 25 kilometres from her home in Rothwell, placing her considerably away from familiar surroundings when last sighted.

The girl is described as Caucasian in appearance, slim build, with red tint shoulder length hair and a slit in her left eyebrow. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue mini denim shorts with black Nike TN's.

Police and family hold concerns for her welfare due to her age. The girl is known to frequent North Lakes Shopping Centre and the Redcliffe Jetty. Police have noted these locations as places she is likely to visit, providing potential leads for the investigation.

The circumstances remain unclear at this stage. About 8000 people are reported missing in Queensland each year and about 98 per cent of them are found within 48 hours, according to Queensland statistics, though police take every report seriously given the age involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Queensland Police Policelink on 131 444 immediately. If someone is in immediate danger, call 000. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
