Prince Harry has been announced as a keynote speaker for the InterEdge Psychosocial Safety Summit, which runs from April 15 to 16 at CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park in Melbourne. Harry will focus his keynote address on workplace mental health.
The summit aims to bring together "industry leaders, policymakers, practitioners and advocates to share practical strategies for building psychologically safe, mentally healthy and high-performing workplaces," with a strong emphasis on organisational responsibility and evidence-based change.
Other keynote speakers include psychologist Dr Amy Cuddy, retired tennis player Jelena Dokic and podcaster Hugh van Cuylenburg. Organisers are framing the event as a major national conversation around workplace mental health, leadership and psychosocial safety, bringing together policymakers, practitioners, advocates and business leaders at a time when psychosocial safety is becoming a more urgent issue for employers, with growing concern around burnout, distress and psychological injury across workplaces.
Tickets start at AU$1,978, with all proceeds benefiting Lifeline Naarm, a 24/7 crisis support and suicide prevention service.
Mental health advocacy has been central to Prince Harry's public work for more than a decade, beginning during his time as a working royal. He has spoken openly about his own mental health experiences and, together with Meghan, has made the cause a cornerstone of their charitable foundation, Archewell Philanthropies. The Melbourne summit appearance comes as the couple returns to Australia for the first time in seven years; they last visited in October 2018 when they announced Meghan's pregnancy with their first child.
