A 39-year-old Richlands man has been arrested and charged with one count of rape following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault at a massage therapy business.

Police allege the sexual assault occurred on 19 February when the man, working as a massage therapist, sexually assaulted a woman at the business during the course of his duties.Following extensive investigations, detectives conducted a search warrant at the business on 5 March, leading to the man's arrest.

The man is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on 14 April.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Simon Ball said police are urging anyone with further information or interactions of a similar nature to come forward."Offences of this nature are a despicable breach of trust, and police are committed to pursuing every avenue of investigation to seek justice for victim-survivors," he said.

Ball commended the victim-survivor for her courage to come forward and help police hold the alleged perpetrator to account.
