Two people have been found dead inside a property in the small Latrobe Valley community of Hernes Oak, roughly 143 kilometres east of Melbourne, with Victoria Police confirming they are not seeking any other persons in connection with the incident.
According to 9News, emergency services were called to the address on McGraths Track at approximately 12.15pm. Upon arrival, officers located the bodies of a 47-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man inside the home. Investigators have confirmed the two were known to each other.
Crime Stoppers Victoria has urged anyone with information that may assist investigators to make contact on 1800 333 000 or to submit a confidential report online. Victoria Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are yet to be determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Hernes Oak is a rural locality situated in the Latrobe Valley, midway between Moe and Morwell in eastern Victoria. The area is predominantly semi-rural in character, with properties typical of the region's pastoral and small-acreage land use.
